BECOMING A CATHECIST
Thank you for your interest in becoming a catechist in the religious formation program at St.
Mary of the Assumption. We appreciate your desire to share the Catholic faith with the parish’s
children and to help them prepare for sacraments.

Some basic qualifications are:
- a desire to work with children
- commitment to teach every Sunday from September through April
- be an active, participating member of St. Mary of the Assumption
- receive the Diocesan safe environment training before beginning classes
- attend the training sessions at the parish during the academic year
